DataSoft’s SideBridge Provides Wireless Connectivity at AEWE Spiral J

Tempe-based DataSoft Corporation, on Monday, March 9, 2015, announces the SideBridge Module
provided wireless connectivity at the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE) Spirial J

March 9, 2015 8:00 AM MST

The DataSoft SideBridge module was used by squad leaders in the recently completed AEWE Spiral J event at Fort Benning, Georgia. SideBridge was attached directly to a PRC-152A radio and provided wireless connectivity from the radio network to the Nett Warrior smartphone End User Device (EUD). By eliminating the cable between the radio and EUD, the potential for snagging the cable or breaking the connector was eliminated. Soldiers conducting Spiral J missions could conveniently pass the EUD to other team members so that they could see the display and/or capture additional information.

SideBridge provides a secure Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection between a radio and a smartphone. The rugged module attaches directly to a radio and expands communications wirelessly to the wealth of applications available on a standard smartphone, tablet or other device. SideBridge connects to active sensor devices including an automated injury detection panel and is compatible with a variety of tactical radios.
