Network Obfuscation and Virtualized Anti-reconnaissance System (Nova)

The Network Obfuscation and Virtualized Anti-reconnaissance System (Nova) is a software tool developed to detect network based reconnaissance efforts and to deny the attacker access to real network data while providing false information regarding the number and types of systems connected to the network.

Benefits

  • Nova will limit the effects of cyber attacks by detecting the activity and providing false data to the attacker
  • Nova will spoof network data to attackers thus revealing their intentions
  • Autonomous agents combine lightweight virtualization, attacker classification, dynamic rerouting for asset protection, and diverse mechanisms for provision of false information to attackers

Markets

The government and commercial sectors are both under constant cyber attacks by domestic and foreign interests who seek to access sensitive information. Nova provides a means for providing false information to attackers, thereby limiting their ability to attack a network.
