11/20/19:   Automatic Injury Detection (AID), a wearable sensor technology designed to help save lives, received the ASTORS Platinum Award for the best personal/protective equipment solution. Personal Emergency Transmitter (PET) received the Platinum Award for Best Alert Notification Solution and a Gold Award for New Product of the Year in Personal Safety Equipment. The awards weres announced today at the American Security Today’s 2019 ASTORS Homeland Awards Presentation Luncheon. The awards presentation took place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center as part of the International Security Conference and Exposition (ISC East). DataSoft partners with Select Engineering Services (SES) to develop, manufacture, and sell the AID and PET products.

11/5/19:   DataSoft launched and completed the first delivery of a new SideBridge Radio Access Point (RAP) module that fits directly to the red side connector of the PRC117G radio. The new SideBridge-RAP provides simplified wired connectivity to the radio in place of the Bluetooth/WiFi connection available on other SideBridge models. More Information

7/16/19:   DataSoft launched and completed the first delivery of a customized SideBridge Elbit module that fits directly to the side of the Elbit PNR-1000 Radio. SideBridge Elbit eliminates cables by providing a secure Bluetooth or WiFi connection between the radio and an End-User-Device (e.g. smartphone, tablet). Multiple users can connect to one radio and easily transmit or receive data on the radio network for use within their tactical applications. More Information

5/10/19:   Personal Emergency Transmitter (PET), a wearable device designed to improve personal safety, is now available for sale on this Amazon link

3/19/19:   Personal Emergency Transmitter (PET), a wearable device designed to improve personal safety, was launched by DataSoft today. A short press of the PET button automatically sends emergency alert text messages to up to 30 pre-selected recipients. The text message includes the user's personal information and their GPS location. The PET device resembles an ID badge or proximity card and can be worn on a lanyard. It connects over Bluetooth to an Android smartphone or iPhone through the PET app which is now available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. More Information

1/22/19:   Automatic Injury Detection (AID) App is now approved for use on FirstNet – America’s public safety communications platform. AID earned a FirstNet Listed designation, meaning it meets the stringent requirements set by FirstNet for security, data privacy and availability. More Information

4/30/18:   Today, DataSoft delivered SideBridge-Sensor modules to the U.S. Army per their solicitation number W911SR-18-R-WLSS. The SideBridge-Sensor modules provide the wireless communication needed to remotely view the data from the Army’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) defense sensors. 3/23/18:   Automatic Injury Detection (AID), a wearable sensor technology designed to help save lives, was deployed at multiple law enforcement departments in South Texas this week. The departments included the City of Rockport Police, Corpus Christi Independent School District (ISD) Police, and the City of Rio Grande City Police. More Information

3/20/18:   The DataSoft SideBridge-Iridium (SB-I) module was a selected technology for the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE 2018) that completed today. During the experiment, SB-I maintained Position Location Information (PLI) for all platoon members when the radio connection was out of network. More Information

2/10/18:   DataSoft was awarded a US Navy SBIR Phase I contract under topic number N173‐143 - Transponded Satellite Communications Ad-hoc Networking (T-SCAN). It will develop a prototype algorithm to be hosted on the Wideband Anti-jam Modern System (WAMS) to form and manage multiple simultaneous point-to-multipoint sessions over a transponded satellite for non-networking capable WAMS waveforms. The space sector has become a more contested environment than ever, requiring new approaches and closer partnerships to better defend against attacks. We are proud to serve our warfighters with innovative solutions.

12/4/17:   Today DataSoft launched a new iPhone app for Automatic Injury Detection (AID) – a wearable sensor technology designed to help save lives. The AID iPhone (iOS) app is now available for free download on the iTunes App Store. The AID iPhone app connects to the AID sensors via Bluetooth and automatically sends an emergency alert whenever the sensors are pierced by a bullet, blade or shrapnel. More Information

6/26/17:   DataSoft is proud to announce the award of a US Army Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract under the topic number A16‐070. The Army initiated this research topic for the purpose of developing a technique and methodology to implement the Internet of Things (IoT) in a novel way for the Body Area Networks (BAN)s of dismounted soldiers. The sensor data from individual BANs contribute to enhanced Situational Awareness (SA) and improved Command and Control (C2) decision making. More Information

2/1/17:   Today the Montgomery County (VA) Sheriff’s Department along with Select Engineering and DataSoft demonstrated AID, the Automatic Injury Detection system, to the media, regional law enforcement and other guests. Montgomery County Sheriff Hank Partin is using AID to help protect the lives of his personnel. More Information

11/1/16:  Today from MILCOM 2016, DataSoft introduces the SideBridge-Icom, a compact module that attaches directly to the side connector of the Icom portable land mobile radio and provides Bluetooth wireless connectivity to smartphones and tablets. 05/3/16:  DataSoft is proud to announce that the US Army has awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract under the topic number AF103-085. Project Manager Tactical Radios (PM TR) under PEO C3T initiated this research and development effort to build a SideBridge-Iridium module for the Rifleman Radio (PRC-154A). The proposed SideBridge-Iridium (SB-I) module ensures reliable transmission of the radio Position Location Information (PLI). SB-I will monitor the radio PLI and automatically transmit the PLI over the Iridium satellite network whenever the radio becomes disconnected from the radio network or if the radio is no longer able to generate PLI. 05/3/16:  DataSoft is proud to announce with partner company, Select Engineering Services, that they have received an order to supply the Montgomery County Virginia Sheriff’s department with the life-saving Automatic Injury Detection (AID) system. Deputies will soon be wearing the state-of-the-art sensors that automatically send out an emergency alert when the AID panel has been shot or stabbed. More Information

03/8/16:  DataSoft is proud to announce that the Thunder SDR system has been tested for the limits of electromagnetic interference and successfully certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the European Economic Area for CE conformance.
Also, the Department of State recently reported that the Thunder SDR was not subject to their jurisdiction – the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) including export, license and use restrictions no longer apply. Thunder is now subject to the Department of Commerce export regulations like most other U.S. commercial products.
The Thunder SDR waveform development and test system is a wide-band, high performance baseband and RF platform. The open source Linux-based environment, fast-start templates and reference waveform implementation reduces cost and time-to-market for waveform and application development. Thunder’s variety of functionality, high performance and optional Software Probes for validating waveform and platform data significantly enhances productivity and success for developers.


10/29/15:  DataSoft along with Select Engineering debuted AID, the Automatic Injury Detection system, at various venues during October. AID helps in saving lives by sending an immediate emergency alert when the sensing panel has been pierced by a bullet, knife or shrapnel. The AID system detects the piercing event and sends the emergency alert to a phone, radio or other communication system. More Information

8/13/15:  DataSoft introduces the SideBridge SOM, an ultra-compact module for connectivity and processing applications within the machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) markets. The versatility of connections and dual core processing capability make SideBridge SOM and ideal solution for bridging and routing of IP-based communications. SideBridge SOM can be stacked on DataSoft carrier boards that provide Bluetooth or Wi-Fi wireless communication, GPS, LAN, USB, and a display interface. More Information

4/10/15:  DataSoft announced the development of an LCD version of the SideBridge wireless communication module. When connected to the Rifleman Radio (PRC-154/A), SideBridge reads and displays radio status and configuration data such as the preset number, number of network nodes, battery level, GPS position, and volume level. The SideBridge LCD display eliminates the need to press a key or combination of keys to get the audible responses from the Rifleman Radio. All of the critical radio communication information is displayed on a 2.4 inch color touchscreen with adjustable brightness. More Information

3/9/15:  The DataSoft SideBridge module was used by squad leaders in the recently completed AEWE Spiral J event at Fort Benning, Georgia. SideBridge was attached directly to a PRC-152A radio and provided wireless connectivity from the radio network to the Nett Warrior smartphone End User Device (EUD). By eliminating the cable between the radio and EUD, the potential for snagging the cable or breaking the connector was eliminated. Soldiers conducting Spiral J missions could conveniently pass the EUD to other team members so that they could see the display and/or capture additional information. More Information

2/4/15:  Today DataSoft announced a software upgrade to the Nova Network Security System. The upgrade includes improvements to the software architecture that mitigate vulnerabilities, enables future online software upgrades, and provides immediate notification of hostile attacks. Other updates include an improved scanning capability to ensure the honeypot decoys closely mirror the real network assets and the ability to generate and upload a new TLS certificate. 12/31/14:  Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities are now part of the Thunder Software Defined Radio (SDR) system. The newly integrated interface supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v4.0 for additional flexibility over the existing USB, Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet data and control interfaces. The Thunder SDR waveform development and test system is a wide-band, high performance baseband and RF platform. 9/10/14:  The DataSoft Interface Verification Application (DIVA), v1.9, has been verified by the JTNC Test and Evaluation Laboratory (JTEL) to verify the Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) Application Program Interface (API) Interface Definition Language (IDL) files against the JTRS Standard API IDL files utilized by a vendor. DIVA has been used by JTEL to verify the API IDL files as a part of the JTEL test process since November 2013. JTEL has found that utilizing DIVA has provided up to an 80% reduction in the time required to test the API IDL files. A major aspect of the reduction is that DIVA automatically generates the API Reports for the test engineer and places the results of the test into the report. More Information

8/29/14:  DataSoft has completed and delivered software for the initial Engineering Design Models (EDMs) of the Advanced Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor (ATIP), a U.S. Navy/SPAWAR PMW/A 170 project. The ATIP is a Layer-2 Ethernet bridging device that will be installed on ship, shore, and submarine platforms to form high bandwidth (5x the previous generation) SATCOM-based mesh networks using TCP/IP. DataSoft's delivery enables the Navy to perform final government testing and Information Assurance accreditation in preparation for deployment of ATIP in early 2015. Key features of DataSoft's software are comprehensive Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities, bandwidth optimization, and traffic prioritization on over-subscribed links. It also provides an advanced web-based, intuitive operator and administrator interface for the sailors. DataSoft was responsible for the software architecture, design, development, and integration of the ATIP Processor (AP) software of the ATIP system, which leverages COTS hardware, open interfaces, and Open Source Software, resulting in a system that can be easily maintained and scaled. The successful delivery of ATIP highlights DataSoft’s expertise in high quality, embedded real-time software development for communication systems. Components of the technology are applicable to Software Defined Networking (SDN).

4/17/14:  DataSoft has been awarded a SBIR from the USMC to create a Radio Access Point (RAP) module for the AN/PRC-117G radio, and to add NSA-approved encryption - COTS Solutions for Classified (CSfC) techniques for wireless transmission of classified information (including key handling) to the wireless link (Bluetooth and/or WiFi). The contract also calls for the creation of a Device Access Point (DAP) that allows other accessories to connect securely with the AN/PRC-117G radio. Additionally, DataSoft will add a LCD screen to the SideBridge module to provide visual indicators of the operating status of the radio.

3/18/14:  Mack Brewer joined DataSoft as Director of Business Development for Engineering Design Services.  In this role, Mack is responsible for the insertion of DataSoft design expertise into programs and partner companies. Mack has over 30 years of experience in communications, C4I, commercial and military systems. He is a graduate of Naval Postgraduate School and Texas A&M University, and is a Lieutenant Colonel Retired from the Marines.

12/31/13:  DataSoft has been awarded a FAST project sub-contract by Booz Allen Hamilton in support of Army CERDEC STCD.  The requirement for the sub-contract is to apply Manet Management Protocol (MMP) technology to the AN/PRC-117G radios—to create a prototype that could be transitioned to a program office for final development/integration and near-term deployment. The prototype will provide network—wide monitoring and visualization capability that is currently lacking in the radios.

12/18/13:  DataSoft and IS-Wireless, a 4G LTE software and IP provider based in Poland, announce a partnership for developing LTE/LTE-A modems from IS-Wireless on DataSoft's Thunder SDR Platform. The Thunder SDR platform will be offered by IS-Wireless for prototyping and operating LTE STACKS from IS-Wireless.  At the same time, both companies become mutual re-sellers and support each other's marketing efforts. View announcement

10/31/13:  DataSoft has been awarded a Phase II SBIR Program:  Topic A12-047 "Resources Management in Peer-to-Peer Mobile Ad Hoc Network Communications Environments". DataSoft is developing a MANET Management Protocol that uses a distributed system of peer-to-peer software agents to aggregate and deliver network data. View DataSoft SBIR Projects

10/15/2013:  John Bohlke joined DataSoft as Director of Business Development for Products.  In this role, John develops and manages the sales, marketing and product strategy designed to commercialize DataSoft technology. John has over 15 years of experience in wireless communication and satellite positioning markets. He earned degrees from Saint John’s University and the University of Minnesota and is a professionally licensed engineer.

8/21/13:  DataSoft received the 2013 Excellence in Global Business Award from the Arizona District Export Council. Arizona Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema and District Export Council Vice-Chair Gunnar Light presented the award to DataSoft CEO Vik Patel at the DataSoft Tempe headquarters. View Press Release

7/31/13:  PLI-Cam, one of the On-the-Move Tactical Android Applications developed by DataSoft, is included as part of the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) listed in the PEO-C3T Rifleman Radio RFP issued today. PEO-C3T states that the Government plans to provide five Nexus 7 tablets with Position Location Information (PLI)-Cam installed as End User Devices. This GFE, states PEO-C3T, is critical to ensure the PLI provided by the offeror’s solution is accurate.

6/10/13:  DataSoft is participating in the Arizona Technology Council 2013 Business + IT Expo. Look for us at Table #1. We will be demonstrating our latest cyber security product, Nova - a Network Obfuscation and Anti-Reconnaissance System for private network security. Visit the AZ Tech Council Site for more information.

4/30/13:  The Q1-13 Nova build is complete. Significant updates include improved central management system user interface, new support for assigning names to honeypots, a new underlying asynchronous messaging system, and a new software update system using the Debain repository.

4/22/13:  DataSoft has received a subcontract for software development on the Advanced Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor (ATIP) being developed for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). DataSoft is responsible for the software architecture, design, development, and integration of the ATIP Processor (AP) software.
